watch the greatest moments from game 1:
after watching game 1 tape, here are a few observations:
Louis - strong on the boards, needs to develop an inside game
Dan/Rob - need to shoot more
Phil - started dead cold, finished with a fierce offensive assault. tied for lead on steals
Patrick - not much of an offensive threat, but killer on boards, steals/assists/blocks
Nick - game's leading scorer and strong rebounder, invisible on steals/assists/blocks
John - great penetration, low shot percentage
Neal - rebound/assist/blocks leader, weak shot percentage
Kevin - strong inside presence and assists, needs to shoot more

Welcome, middle-aged men!
yesterday, nov. 4th, we elected our nation's first african-american president. that was yesterday and it is old news. the news of today (and the news that matters) is that MAMBA is very close. MAMBA stands for the Middle-Aged Men's Basketball Association and it is going to change your life.
we will plan to meet 1x per month, i'm thinking the first thursday of the month. if things are going really well and we aren't experiencing chest pains, maybe we can up it to 2x/month. dan powers, one of the participating MAMBA players, is close to locking in an indoor gym in fresh meadows. i figure we can meet at 8pm, do some shooting around, then start the game.
i see us playing a 60-point game (2 point buckets) with an intermission at 30pts. considering the fact that most of us play once a year, on average, it will be an uphill road, at least early on. but with time i think we can reach excellence and inner beauty.
i will be using this blog to post individual and team stats. how will i do this? by videotaping the games. i am a fiend for stats -- it's just that simple. also expect graphs showing player performance trends in graph form. cancel your fantasy basketball game....this is the real deal.
i will add voting polls, write post game analysis, and very likely mock opposing players. i've also added my basketball strengths/weaknesses to my profile. i encourage all to do the same.
welcome one and all to MAMBA! embrace your ability and learn to love yourself again.
