I have spent the waning moments of 2009 coming up with a new basketball identity, which I call Rustic Nerd. My new persona is a fusion of beardy lumberjack and circa 80s Gregory Hines in workout gear. Here's an idea of what I'm going for:

Hello,
How's it going? I was wondering: is your league looking for new players? Two of my friends and I are interested in playing some pickup basketball on occassion. We're all between the ages of 30 to 31 and live Jackson Heights.
If not, is the gym at IS 230 open regularly for basketball, or do you have to have special permission to gain access? Though we all have busy schedules, we'd like to start playing ball again.

you should also contact the custodian about their schedule. we always reserve mondays, but they might have other nights open.
