MVP: Phil, postgame, and predictions

so much to discuss...for starters, no one is getting the Step It Up, Bitch award this week. everyone played with intensity and passion. but there are a couple who are on warning:

Louis - averaged 10 rebounds and 12.5 pts/game in the preseason, yet only pulled down 2 and scored 6 in the last game. where's the hot-shot we once knew?

Neal - watching my first half shots made me want to put toothpicks in my eyes. without the 5 blocks, i probably would have handed myself the award. 13 boards is also well below my career average.

MVP

phil takes the MVP again, becoming the first MAMBA player to win 2 consecutive. there's no question he's the frontrunner for Series MVP.

POSTGAME SUMMARY

the Horsemen came to play dressed in white, but they might as well have been covered in brown. they played lethargic and overconfident in the first half, a disgusting combination. I led the shitstorm, shooting something like 2 for 14. the score at half - HEROES 30 HORSEMEN 14

the Heroes, by contrast, seemed to run on all cylinders. they slowed the pace, owned the boards, moved the ball and maintained an amazingly well-balanced offensive attack. on the defensive end, they stuck to a 4 man zone, with Nick going man-coverage on me. happy times.

at the half Horsemen went back to their game - fast breaks and tight man coverage. away from the ball picks on Nick helped me score a few easy points and Phil went on a tear, scoring something like 8 consecutive buckets. the Horsemen also introduced their team motto, a simple yet powerful message -- HARDER. this 6 letter word seemed to provide the fuel they needed to come back from a 32-14 deficit and inch out a victory.

Heroes still played strong in the 2nd half, but 2 games into the series i still don't see a team identity. who's the go-to guy on offense with the game on the line? who's the game changer? i don't know...maybe they will answer these questions in Game 3. my recommendation is that they must find a way to stop, or at least slow down phil, who's killing them with drives to the bucket and fast breaks.

Here's the team comparison after 2 games:

INTERESTING SUBPLOTS

we've played 6 total games so far and a few points stand-out:

Nick and Neal are the only 2 players with double-doubles in all 6 games.

Rob and Brian are the only 2 players not to score a double-double.

Kevin, Dan W., and Patrick are averaging 10 pts./game after 2 games.

at this point you may be asking yourself, "why did Neal post a picture of Richard Simmons lying nude in a bed of salad?" the answer is simple: Richard Simmons is the ultimate champion. He'll seduce you with his tan body and receding hairline, then rip you to shreds when you're not looking. We can all learn a lot from this man.
